the staff were nice and the grounds WERE beautiful. returning after a first stay decades ago, i again found this retreat top notch. the staff, amenities, and garden were wonderful. i appreciated the exemplary restaurant.
the bathroom IS a nightmare. the sink with a movement sensor never worked for shaving or teeth cleaning. the beds and pillows were rock hard. i was sent choices for dinner before my visit, I chose the bistro only to be told on arrival it was closed.

i thought the staff was very friendly and helpful . the food in the bistro seemed very good, i liked the atmosphere.
the room, a chambre privilège, felt small, it lacked surface area for toiletries. also, i found service in the bar slow, a minor issue.

The room was beautiful and had all the amenities I needed. The restaurant food was acceptable.
I found the outdoor spaces to be neglected. The road noise was intrusive, despite a wall supposedly meant to provide soundproofing.. One would think management would have addressed this by now.
